This Thursday, MAY 1st, at 7:30 is the Middle School Band and Orchestra Spring Concert at the High School Auditorium--sadly the last concert of the year. Following the performances, there will be a reception in the HS cafeteria with cookies and good things to nibble, and a chance to congratulate all the performers on a great year of music!

We are, once again, looking for ALL parents to volunteer to provide a plate of finger goodies (cookies, brownies, etc) or a case of bottles of water (8 or 16 oz.). The band and orchestra students and teachers have spent hours and hours preparing a great evening of music for us all to enjoy, and we would like to treat them to some great goodies afterwards. We are expecting several HUNDRED guests to be hungry and thirsty post-concert, so we really need everyone to pitch in and help out!!
Please let me know via email if you are going to bring cookies (store bought is fine) or other treats, or water, so that we can be sure to have enough available for the large crowd. All goodies should be dropped off at 6:30 in the HS cafeteria, when you drop off your child for the concert.

Also needed for this concert, in the way of parent helpers, the night of the concert are as follows:

3 chaperones for the tuning rooms/ rehearsal help (great if you can tune, ok if you can't)
1 helper to set up refreshments in cafeteria
3 "stage crew" to help with a big set change after warm ups are done at 7:10, and after the jazz ensemble performance. (This is a good job for a HS student sibling to get community service credit, but parents get brownie points, too!)

Lastly, as this is the last concert of the year, if you have an 8th grader without a musician younger sibling, please consider donating his/her bowtie and cummerbund or maroon sash to the Weston Friends of Music fall concert clothing sale so it can be reused next year by another student. There will be a drop box in the cafeteria after the concert for any such donations. (the High School has a different concert dress requirement).

PLEASE respond ASAP to let me know if you will be bringing food or water for this concert. We really appreciate EVERYONE'S HELP to make this a great end-of-a great-year concert and reception!!

Thanks for helping!
