[Msorchestra] M.S. Music Department Music Festival and trip to Six Flags

Dear Parents,
 
This year the members of the Weston Middle School Band, Chorus and Orchestra will again participate in a Music Festival hosted by Great East Music Festivals and then travel to Six Flags New England.  The date of the Festival is Thursday, June 9, 2022.  After music performances and clinics at Weston High School with adjudicators/clinicians, we will depart Weston to Six Flags at approximately 10:30 a.m. and return to Weston Middle school at approximately 5:45 p.m.
 
In this email we have addressed some of the most important details you should be aware of at this time.  Members of the Music Department who are in good standing (grades and discipline) are invited to participate.  On this trip, students will be performing at Weston High School where groups will be adjudicated by two judges and then participate in a clinic.  Students will spend the afternoon at Six Flags New England.  The trip is both educational and fun for everyone involved.  The cost of the trip will be $108.  This includes:  transportation via charter buses, adjudication/clinic, entrance to Six Flags New England and a T-shirt.  If a student would like to only perform in the music festival and not attend the Six Flags portion of the trip, the cost will be $20 per student and includes the adjudication and t-shirt.
 
In order to plan for the number of buses and chaperones, it is imperative for us to get an accurate count of students who are planning to participate.   Once we commit to a number in our traveling group, the school gets no refund.  If your child will be attending the Six Flags portion of the day, please pay the $108 trip fee either via venmo  @westonpublicschools or a check made payable to the Town of Weston.  Please indicate: MS Music Trip, child’s name and grade in VENMO or on the Check. If using a personal check, please bring to the main office, attention Cathy Langan. All payments are non-refundable.   If a student would like to only perform in the music festival in Weston and not attend the Six Flags portion of the trip, please just pay the $20 fee (no form needed).
