Just a reminder that MS jazz band auditions will be taking place next Tuesday, May 21. Audition materials can be found in the band room or online on GoogleDocs. Subject: [Msband] MS Jazz Band Auditions

Dear MS Band Students and Parents,

The MS jazz band auditions will take place on Tuesday, May 21st in the MS band room. The audition materials were made available to students this morning, and can be found in the band room. Student's may sign up for an audition time slot by filling out a time on this form<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AljTF5o-nwY1dGtWeUZjWHFwalluYmpuOEhLMTJFOVE>.

The MS jazz band is made up of 7th and 8th grade students and is open to students playing the following instruments:
-Flute
-Clarinet
-Alto Saxophone
-Tenor Saxophone
-Baritone Saxophone
-Trumpet
-Trombone
-Bass (electric or acoustic)
-Guitar
-Drumset
-Piano
-Vibraphone (keyboard percussion)

The audition requirements are as follows (drummers see note below):
-Bb blues scale (swing eighth notes)
-F blues scale (swing eighth notes)
-Flight of the Foo Birds

Drummer's will be required to prepare 3 pieces in different styles (all found in audition packet):
-Jammin' with Charlie
-Swing Fever
-Bossa Madeira
