[Msband] Weston MMEA-ED Jr. Festival Audition Sign-up

Dear 7th & 8th Grade Music Parents and Students,

Band, Chorus and Orchestra Students in 7th, 8th and 9th grades are eligible to audition for MMEA Eastern District Jr. Festival.   This wonderful event provides an opportunity to perform with the best young musicians in eastern Massachusetts.

Please register students by Monday, December 19, 2022.  Jr. Festival Audition Requirements and festival evaluation sheets can be found here <http://www.mmeaeasterndistrict.org/junior_audition_requirements.htm>.   Most students may only register for one audition. Exceptions: Percussionists may take multiple auditions, i.e. snare, mallets and timpani.  Jazz students may register for a second instrumental ensemble audition.   Please submit a separate registration and fee for each audition.

There are audition registration limits for chorus, flutes, clarinets, alto saxophones and violins.  Students on these parts may be asked to audition to secure their audition spot representing Weston.  Please complete your registration.  If we are over our limits, we will schedule auditions during the week beginning January 9.

2022-22 Eastern District Junior Festival Audition Information:
Audition Date:  Saturday, January 28, 2023
Time:  1:00 p.m. (bus will depart W.H.S. at approximately 11:30 a.m. and return approximately 2:45 p.m.)
Location:  Needham High School
Audition Fee:  $20.00 (you will be invoiced via myschoolbucks)

2022-2023 Eastern District Junior Festival Event Information:
Festival Dates:  March 10 & 11, 2023
Location: Lincoln-Sudbury High School

Please note:   If selected at auditions, students are expected participate in the Festival.
