To Families of High School Orchestra Members:

The popular String Fling is around the corner! Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 pm in the High School gymnasium. This is a family favorite where we see the progression from 3rd grade orchestra to the high school orchestras.

With the large numbers of student musicians and their families attending, we will follow the procedures below to accommodate the crowd.

Student musicians should enter through the doors by the gym/auditorium. If parents accompany them, they will be asked to drop off their student so our parent chaperones can bring them to their grade-level warm-up room. Parents/guests are not allowed to wait in the gym or enter the warm-up rooms, instead they will exit outside and walk a short distance to the main entrance where they can pay admissions and wait in the cafeteria.
All families and guests should enter the High School through the main doors (next to the cafeteria). Admissions will be paid at this entrance so that families/guests can wait in the cafeteria, or they will be directed through the HS hallways to the gym (and they can wait in those hallways until the gym opens).
At 6:45pm the gym doors will open for general seating in the bleachers. The concert lasts approximately 1 hour.

We need the following 14 volunteers to make this concert a success!
7 Middle School volunteers from 6pm to 7pm to chaperone student musicians to warm-up rooms and direct traffic flow in gym once doors open.
7 High School volunteers from 5:50pm to 7pm as door ushers, line directors, admissions table/programs. Volunteers will direct parents to the cafeteria; direct parents/families in the hallways; assist with younger students in the gym hallway.
ALL volunteers will be able to go into the gym early and put their coat on a seat to reserve it.

** Please let us know if you can volunteer by responding to ellenhazencarpenter at gmail.com and julia_ding at yahoo.com **

Admission is $5.00 per family. Students, faculty, grandparents, and seniors are free. Exact change is always welcome.

Thank you in advance for your support, and we look forward to an incredible concert!

Regards,

Ellen Hazen Carpenter and Julia Ding, High School Orchestra Co-Chairs
