
<html><head></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">Dear MS Band Students and Parents,<div><br></div><div>The MS jazz band auditions for current 6th and 7th grade students will take place on <b>Wednesday, May 30th</b> in the MS band room. The audition materials were made available to students this morning, and can be found in the band room. Student's may sign up for an audition time slot by filling out a time on <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AljTF5o-nwY1dGtWeUZjWHFwalluYmpuOEhLMTJFOVE">this form</a>.</div><div><br></div><div>The MS jazz band is made up of 7th and 8th grade students and is open to students playing the following instruments:</div><div>-Flute</div><div>-Clarinet</div><div>Alto Saxophone</div><div>-Tenor Saxophone</div><div>-Baritone Saxophone</div><div>-Trumpet</div><div>-Trombone</div><div>-Bass (electric or acoustic)</div><div>-Drumset</div><div>-Guitar (see note below)</div><div>-Piano</div><div>-Vibraphone (<i>please take an audition packet for flute</i>)</div><div><br></div><div><b><i>Please note: There are no anticipate openings for guitar. Anyone who chooses to audition may audition to be placed on a waiting list.</i></b></div><div><br></div><div>The audition requirements are as follows (drummers see note below):</div><div>-Bb blues scale (swing eighth notes)</div><div>-F blues scale (swing eighth notes)</div><div>-Swing Fever</div><div><br></div><div>Drummer's will be required to prepare 3 pieces in different styles (all found in audition packet):</div><div>-Jammin' with Charlie</div><div>-Swing Fever</div><div>-Bossa Madeira</div><div><br></div><div>Please sign up for an <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AljTF5o-nwY1dGtWeUZjWHFwalluYmpuOEhLMTJFOVE">audition slot here</a>. Student's are encouraged to ask any questions about the auditions in class. I look forward to listening to the auditions!</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you,</div><div>Mr. Dandrea</div><div>Band Director</div><div>Weston Middle School</div></body></html>
