Band and orchestra students are encouraged to seek private instruction to further develop technique, sight-reading ability and repertoire. Once again this year, Weston has a outstanding group of private teachers available to teach band, orchestra & chorus students (students must be enrolled in band, orchestra or chorus to take part in the private lesson program). If you would like your student to take advantage of our private lesson program, please fill out and submit the online Private Lesson Sign Up Form (click here). Once you sign up for lessons, the individual private instructor will make contact to set up an exact time.

The policy for payment for private lessons is as follows:

1. The private teacher will present a bill.
Payment is made directly to the teacher.

2. Lessons are at the rate of $65 per hour lesson.
Payment is to be made by semester and due on or before the second lesson.

1st semester: Week of Sept. 20
2nd semester: Week of January 18

(30 minute lesson) (45 minute lesson) (60 minute lesson)
$517.5 (first 15 lessons) $776.25 (first 15 lessons) $1035.00 (first 15 lessons)

NOTE: Credit will be given in the following bill for lessons missed because of vacations, teacher workshops, or if the teacher cannot be here.

3. No refund can be made for lessons missed on account of illness (except in the case of long term illness) or “no school” days caused by storms. Teachers are committed to a specified number of teaching days in Weston and expect to receive a certain income for their time. Notice about prearranged absences must be given to the private teacher one week in advance.

4. In the case of school field trips for which the schedule is established at least one week in advance, and the private teacher is then notified by the student or the parent, the lesson will either be canceled with no charge or made up at a later date.

If there are any questions concerning this policy, please contact me at (781) 786-5945 or by email memolic@weston.org.

Private Lesson Sign up Form can be found here.

Sincerely,
