This only pertains to those students planning on auditioning for Jr. Districts. Jr. Districts is NOT open to 6th graders. Please remind your child to bring the attached permission slip and check if they are planning on auditioning. <br><br>Students who should consider auditioning: those students taking private lessons, students who the band/orchestra music is relatively easy for, students who are looking for an extra challenge musically....the festival is an amazing opportunity for our strong musicians! The auditions are January 22. Students who are selected (it is a very competitive process) will perform with the Eastern District Band, Orchestra or Jazz Band at the Junior District Festival (March 4-5). It is the responsibility of each student to order their own original copy of the audition music. They should be working on this music with their private teacher between now and the audition. The required scales are also attached...these should also be worked on with private teachers. I will be hosting mock auditions in January to help prep them for the experience.<br><br>Thanks, Colleen MacDonald<br><br>*Students auditioning for jazz band and band or percussionists auditioning on multiple percussion instruments need to include a $15 for each audition they are taking.
